Contract Summary
RFB 2020-160 is for Interpretation Services for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired
1. Vendor will provide, at CSCD’S request interpreting services for deaf and hearing-impaired individuals either under CSCD’S supervision, or who have pre-sentence investigation reports pending. Services will be provided on an as needed basis.
2. CSCD and Vendor agree that any request by CSCD for interpreting services shall be made by CSCD. CSCD will make every effort to give the Vendor a minimum forty-eight (48) hours notification of requirement; however, in some cases notice could be less. If CSCD gives less than a forty-eight (48) hour notification, no extra fee or charge will be billed in addition to the regular rate. If Vendor does not have an interpreter available, CSCD will contact the secondary and/or alternate Vendor.
3. Interpreting services will be billed based on an hourly rate. Vendor should include signed timesheets with each invoice to support the billing amount. CSCD will not reimburse mileage, parking, or travel time.
4. Billing time shall not begin to accrue until the agreed appointment time or the time the interpreter reports to location, whichever is later.
5. All assignments will be charged a two (2) hour minimum, for each interpreter. After the first two (2) hours, charges will be based on increments of fifteen (15) minutes.
6. CSCD must cancel assignment at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance to avoid charge for minimum of two (2) hours. If assignment is canceled after interpreter arrives, or if the client fails to show for appointment, CSCD will be charged a two (2) hour minimum.
7. Vendor must cancel assignment at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance to avoid having to credit CSCD for minimum of two (2) hours. If interpreter fails to show for assignment, Vendor will credit CSCD for a minimum of two (2) hours. This must be reflected on invoice submitted to CSCD.
8. An interpreter will not interpret for more than one (1) hour without a break of at least ten (10) minutes.
9. Interpreter may be requested to provide services to groups of clients. The cost will be based on evaluation of each client’s level of required communication. If levels of communication are so different that they necessitate the use of more than one interpreter, then the standard hourly rate may be billed for each interpreter required.
